One of my proudest accomplishments as a Newton Alderman was helping to build consensus for Newton’s innovative Tree Preservation Ordinance. I worked with the proposal’s lead sponsors, Alderman Amy Sangiolo and Alderman Mike Lipof to draft ordinance language and to guide the proposal through the legislative process. The ordinance has already saved hundreds of trees and has provided funds for the planting of hundreds more.
