Throughout my tenure on the Board of Aldermen, I have worked to protect Newton’s open spaces from development and to maintain and preserve our existing parks and woods. Two years ago, I lead the effort on the Board of Aldermen to place the Community Preservation Act acceptance question on our local ballot and I worked hard to inform people about the benefits of being a CPA community. Since adoption of CPA, I have worked to make sure that we get the most benefit to our community possible, including the most open space, for every dollar we spend.
