A House Party Guide
3 or 4 weeks before your event:
- Invite your own contacts in Newton - send them the invitation and/or a save the date. Email is fine, and mail works too! Click here to download an invitation template.
- It is very helpful for us to connect with any friends, associates or family you have in Newton so we can continue to grow our network beyond the "regular crowd" which attends political events.
1 week before your event:
- Remind everyone you invited a few weeks ago by email or phone.
- Parker campaign volunteers will also leaflet your neighborhood to increase turnout.
1 or 2 days before your event:
- Personally invite as many neighbors you do not know by knocking on their door and inviting them to your house.
- 1 or 2 days notice is fine - often with more notice people forget about the event.
- You don't have to do this, but this has proven to be a very effective way to increase turnout. It's also a nice way to meet your neighbors!
Day of your event:
- Basic finger foods are fine to serve - fruit, cookies, crackers and cheese, etc. People usually are focused on the discussion.
- Plan to briefly introduce Ken to your guests - explain personally why you support him.
- Ken will give a brief talk (~10 minutes) and then the Q&A will last about an hour to 90 minutes.
