I have worked to preserve historic structures in Newton by supporting the establishment of historic districts in Newtonville (enacted) and Auburndale (pending), as well as by serving as lead sponsor of the proposal to implement the Community Preservation Act (CPA) in Newton. I also worked on legislation that strengthened our ability to protect historic structures against demolition and have supported the Newton History Museum at the Jackson Homestead.
