The City of Newton does not currently accept electronic funds transfers, so if you pay your taxes or water bill or parking fine using your bank's electronic bill-pay feature, your bank will send a physical check to the City. Processing these payments takes longer and costs the City more than it would to accept electronic payments. I am working with the Treasurer's office and the City's Chief Budget Officer to make sure we start accepting electronic payments soon.
